I made it to Jeddah and am sippin' a cup of coffee, contemplating going for a morning run around the compound. Thank you! The trip was wonderful and filled with new experiences.... I saw several families on the flight to Jeddah and the men all put on what appeared to be big white terry cloth robes right before we landed in Jeddah. My seat mate informed me they were preparing for a pilgrimage to Mecca.... Cool! I also tried a very sour coffee in a little white cup accompanied by a fig.... I liked it. My seat mate informed me that in Saudi they would continue serving this coffee to you until you either shook your cup three times or covered it as a sign you were finished drinking coffee. I went right through customs, no big problem there except my fingers were dried out and they had to keep having me put water on my finger tips in order to get a good scan of my finger prints. A very big and nice Saudi man, who was assigned to meet me, met me and helped me with my bags out to Tim and his co-worker Steve. Steve helped Tim drive to the airport to pick me up and then, because I did not feel to tired, gave me a driving tour around Jeddah. That was awesome. When we got to the compound, I cleaned up and Tim took me for a walking tour of the compound and dinner at the compound cafe, "Oasis". I believe that is when I stared to realize how tired I was as I asked him what they did in the office marked IT, pronouncing it as the word it.... duh... and then also a nice gentleman in the grocery store introduced himself and it went something like this... "Hi. I am Bob". I replied, "I am Bob, no wait, I mean I am Leslie and you are Bob".... he laughed and said he would talk to me again after about two weeks. Needless to say Tim took me home and put me to bed. :)
